Sherrod's the fighter we need in Washington

Hey there. It’s Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker.

I wanted to reach out because my friend and fellow Midwesterner, Sherrod Brown, is fighting to flip Ohio's Senate seat. Ahead of the campaign’s end-of-month deadline on August 31, he is counting on your support.

If that's all you need to hear, then I'm personally asking you to chip in $5, or anything you can spare today, to help him win this critical race.

But otherwise, I'd like to explain why it's so important to me:

Sherrod and I have a lot in common, and not just because we're from the Midwest. We also share many of the same values, like championing workers and families.

I've worked to do that in Illinois by protecting unions, strengthening occupational safety standards, and tightening requirements to ensure equal pay. As Washington politicians work to unlawfully strip worker protections, it's never been more important to enshrine workers’ rights into law.

But that's just the thing: The laws we're passing in Illinois are measures that working families need all across the country.

Sherrod is the guy to make that happen, and I'm committed to working as hard as possible to send him to the Senate.

But here's the deal: Corporate interests spent millions in Ohio's last Senate race – and you can bet they'll spend even more this time around to defeat Sherrod and keep their corrupt politicians in charge.

We cannot let that happen. Too much is at stake – for working families, the rule of law, and even our democracy.
