Pamela, as trillion-dollar tech companies build massive AI infrastructure, they need to find ways to power these energy-hungry data centers. And Trump’s EPA is saying that Big Tech can be allowed to bypass the Clean Air Act to power their data centers.
But families shouldn’t be left paying the price of pollution and higher utility bills while Big Tech and Big Oil cash in. Unfortunately, that’s exactly the direction we’re heading.
Instead of requiring these new facilities to be powered with affordable, clean energy, Trump announced a voluntary, nonbinding pledge with tech companies that lacks meaningful accountability or enforceable standards.
It’s a desperate attempt to do damage control around skyrocketing utility prices ahead of the 2026 midterm elections, but it won’t do anything to lower anyone’s utility bills.
Climate Power is fighting for a different path -- one where new data centers are powered by clean, affordable, and reliable energy that lowers costs, reduces pollution, and protects the grid instead of straining it.
Together, we can demand policies that hold Big Oil and Big Tech accountable, putting people before polluters.
Thanks for being in this fight,
Climate Power
