Pamela, our fundraising dipped this past week—and while it’s not cause for panic, it is serious.
Our work has never been more important. And how much we raise today determines how we can respond to the countless attacks on our democracy.
Read our message about what's at stake and chip in before our midnight deadline.
Pamela,
Let’s be honest: we’re facing a tough stretch.
Our summer fundraising has slowed, and if it doesn’t pick up soon, we’ll have to make hard cuts in the coming months. That means fewer organizers. Volunteers absent from the field. Less people power to hold the line when our democracy is under attack.
In a year like 2026 – where we’re facing the consequential midterm elections, sweeping attacks on our rights, and an aggressive push towards authoritarianism, we can’t afford to scale back.
Not while powerful institutions and companies abandon their principles for political gain. Not while politicians redraw our maps to silence We The People. Not while the same handful of elites rewrite the rules to lock the rest of us out.
But here’s what gives us hope: this movement doesn’t rely on billionaires’ goodwill. It’s powered by all of us – coming together, giving what we can, and refusing to sit this one out.
For over fifty years, Common Cause has stood for the simple but powerful idea that government should serve the people.
And we’re building lasting infrastructure – not just for the next election, but for the next decade of fights, to prove that idea is still worth believing in.
But that takes organizing, year-round.
Every single day, our staff and volunteers are mobilizing to protect voting rights, defend fair maps, expose corruption, and make our democracy work better – for everyone.
Pamela, all of that momentum will slow down – at the worst moment possible – if we can’t fund it.
So here’s the ask, plain and simple: if you believe in building people-powered democracy and you’re able to give before our end-of-month deadline, we need you now.
Every $20, $15, or even $10 gift means we don’t have to scale back. Every new (or repeat!) donor makes our work stronger. Will you chip in whatever you can today to help us close this gap and keep our movement strong?
If you've saved your info with ActBlue, we'll process your contribution instantly:
When you show up – whether with your time, your voice, or your dollars – you remind those in power that we’re not going anywhere.
Thanks for being in this fight with us,
The team at Common Cause
