Hi Pamela, I'm pleased to tell you that the paperback of my memoir, Coming Up Short, will be out on Tuesday, August 25. You can get the Coming Up Short paperback from Bookshop.org — an online marketplace that supports local bookstores — or find it wherever books are sold.
When the hardback of this book came out last year, I was gobsmacked to see it at #1 on The New York Times nonfiction bestseller list. That was after seven months of Donald Trump's despicable regime. Now, after a year and a half of it, I believe my book is even more relevant. I wrote it to share what I've learned about stopping bullies, in my personal life and my decades in American politics. Trump's bullying has only gotten worse, throughout America and around the world. The unholy alliance he has forged between great wealth and great power has only intensified. Now, thanks to him, we're facing many crises: an economy that's good only for the super-rich, a democracy imperiled, the rule of law deteriorating, and a planet succumbing to climate change. Yet I remain doggedly hopeful about our long-term future. I hope you'll get and read Coming Up Short. I believe that you will find it helpful for understanding how we can cope with these crises now and in the years ahead — and why I believe so passionately that we will. And I hope that you will draw insight and inspiration from ideas I offer for how we'll create a path toward a better and more decent nation and world. Thank you, Robert Reich P.S.
