Russell Vought, the far-right architect of Project 2025 and Trump's budget director, is facing articles of impeachment for abusing his power to block Congressionally approved funding.
Vought admitted to halting clean energy grants to Democratic-led states "based solely" on political criteria. The Trump administration is illegally weaponizing federal spending as political punishment.
Vought's dream cuts to the federal government have gone just like he planned in Project 2025 and executed with DOGE — gutting Social Security, slashing Medicaid and SNAP benefits, hollowing out the federal workforce, and much more. Now, he's trying to gain even more control over our tax dollars and breaking the law to do it.

Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove just introduced articles of impeachment against Vought for his unconstitutional acts. "We cannot sit idly by while an unelected shadow president continues to weaponize the federal government and steal taxpayers’ hard-earned money," she said.
When Vought terminated billions in Congressionally-approved grants for states that didn't vote for Trump in 2024, he decided to throw out the rule of law and test whether anyone would stop him.
This bald-faced law-breaking is a hallmark of the second Trump administration.
The White House has repeatedly attempted to illegally withhold funding to Democratic-led states over the last 18 months. Vought is now trampling on the Constitution to enact Trump’s far-right agenda AGAIN.
