Pamela,
I wanted to share some important news with you -- I'm making a big transition in my role at Climate Power. But I'm not going anywhere, and I'll tell you why in a moment. First, I want to tell you what your support made possible. Because it matters for what I'm about to ask.
In 2025, Climate Power proved something that a lot of people said couldn't be done: Clean energy can win elections when we connect it to what families are actually feeling.
In New Jersey, the new governor won running on exactly the right kind of energy affordability message -- and she beat $12 million in attack ads to do it. In Virginia, same story. In Georgia, we helped elect two Public Service Commissioners who will directly lower utility bills for families across the state.
We found the winning argument -- that Trump and Republicans in Congress are raising our energy bills by cutting clean energy -- and we got it to the people who needed to hear it. Not just on cable news. Local media, creators, digital partners, YouTube -- reaching people where they are.
Today, this is a nationwide story: 54% of voters blame Republicans in Congress for rising energy costs, and Trump's approval on energy has dropped 19 points. And we're just getting started.
Can you chip in today to make sure Climate Power is ready for the fights ahead?
Utility bills are rising fast, driven by surging demand from data centers, extreme weather, and costly grid upgrades. In state after state, regulators are approving double-digit rate hikes while clean energy projects that would lower costs are being cut.
We believe that whoever defines why bills are rising -- and who has the solution -- will shape the 2026 midterms and the politics of energy for the next decade.
So in 2026, we're scaling this playbook across the country to help Americans understand the stakes when it comes to energy affordability.
So, Pamela, I'm asking you: Will you help us take this fight to every state where it matters?
Now, the personal news. After six years as Executive Director -- from moving my family back to DC to start this organization, through a pandemic, through passing the largest clean energy investment in history, through some of the hardest political moments many of us have experienced -- I'm stepping into a new role as President of Climate Power.
I'm handing day-to-day to our new Executive Director, Josh Peck, one of the best strategists I know, so I can focus on scaling our strategy for 2026, building toward 2028, and making sure this organization has what it needs to win for the long term.
I'm not going anywhere. I'm going deeper.
Thank you for being in this fight. I mean that. The calls you've made to Congress, the emails you've sent, the donations that keep us going. It adds up. And it's about to matter more than ever.
Onward,
Lori

P.S. Energy costs are rising and the midterms will determine whether anyone does anything about it. We proved in 2025 that clean energy wins when we make the case. Help us make it in every community that matters. Give now: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/cp-em-feb26
