Add your name to the petition to make it clear: Americans DO NOT support a violent forever war with Iran!
Dear MoveOn member,
Trump is preparing to launch a war with Iran. The Pentagon has deployed the largest buildup of warplanes in the Middle East since the 2003 invasion of Iraq.1 Anonymous Trump officials are saying they expect a "weeks-long" operation.2
The Iranian regime is horrific—and we've seen what happened in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the endless war across the globe. We can't allow history to repeat itself.
We can push back on this. Republicans don't often push back against Trump, but endless wars are one place where MAGA is split. War is deeply unpopular across this country—and we can put the brakes on this violence through Congress. Representative Ro Khanna is pushing Congress to vote to stop Trump going to war with Iran. With your help, this is one of the votes in Congress that we could win.
This is a critical moment, and we're losing time to intervene. Will you add your name NOW to demand Congress do everything in their power to STOP a forever war with Iran?
Americans overwhelmingly oppose the U.S. getting involved in a war with Iran.3
Trump ran on promises of peace, but since his second term, he has impudently bombed seven countries.4 It was just last June that the U.S. and Israel recklessly struck Iran, killing more than 1,000 people.5
People in Iran have been protesting for generations to be able to choose their own government and to live with dignity without the constant threat of violence from the Iranian regime. Last month the Iranian government massacred protesters and cut off the internet and communication channels so the world couldn't watch. It's horrific.
But it's clear that the Trump administration—which has consistently shown it does not care about the lives of people here in the U.S.—does not care about the lives of Iranian people. Especially since, even as this brutal crackdown was happening, the Trump administration was still deporting people into the violence of the Iranian regime.6 We've seen before, across the Middle East, that bombs don't discriminate between regime members, protesters, and everyday people trying to live their lives.
More than 49,000 MoveOn members have signed the petition demanding no war with Iran. Add your name to join them in demanding Congress do everything in its power to STOP Trump.
A few members of Congress have already been pushing to rein in Trump and limit his ability to drive us further into war. Rep. Khanna and Representative Thomas Massie are working to force a vote on a resolution that would do exactly that. "I won't let Trump launch a disastrous war without Congress voting to stop it," said Rep. Khanna.7
But representatives need to know that the demands to rein in Trump and prioritize diplomacy are coming directly from their constituents—and that we are ready to mobilize to stop another forever war. Trump will not launch an attack on Iran without facing the full force of our public dissent.
Trump could launch a military attack against Iran at any moment. Will you sign the petition and then share with three friends to build the broad public opposition we need to force Congress to act?
Thanks for all you do.
