Pamela,
In the dead of night and without warning, Donald Trump illegally and unilaterally declared war on Iran.
His goal is a nebulous regime change in a country with as many people as Germany, and a GDP similar to Turkey.
Trump acknowledged that Americans would die for his war of choice.
When the President illegally drags us into a war based on lies, Congress has only one recourse:
Congress is voting on a War Powers Resolution to rein in Trump's war. That's a good start.
But the Constitution doesn't just give Congress the right to disapprove of military action―it makes war the responsibility of the Congress in order to prevent a rogue individual in the White House from dragging us into a war that the people don't want and the country doesn't need.
This administration will not be restrained. He must be removed.
Our country was founded with removing a rogue President in mind. That's why the Constitution outlines impeachment proceedings that were written before we had ever had a President.
Tell Congress: Impeach Donald Trump over his illegal war.
These are scary times.
In solidarity,
Progress America
