Last night, Donald Trump sent out an email attacking our People's State of the Union.
He called us "Woke extremists." He said we're "foaming at the mouth." He accused us of "Total Sabotage" and staged walkouts designed to please the "Fake News Media."
We'll take that as a compliment.
When Trump feels the need to attack us the night before his all-important address to Congress, it means he's scared. It means what we're doing is working. And it means our pro-democracy movement is getting stronger.
Tonight, Trump will stand before Congress and lie.
He'll claim everything is going great while his administration slashes health care, sends masked ICE agents to terrorize our communities and kill our neighbors, and hands more tax cuts to the Epstein class. He'll take a victory lap while millions of Americans are one unexpected bill away from losing everything.
We refuse to let that be the only story told tonight.
That's why MoveOn and MeidasTouch are organizing The People's State of the Union on the National Mall tonight—hosted by Katie Phang and Joy Reid—to tell the real story of America in 2026: one of resilience, resistance, and organized opposition to Trump's cruelty and corruption.

Livestreaming a major outdoor event on the National Mall is technically complex: There's no plugging into a wall. We're relying on wireless signals, and when tens of thousands of people gather in one place, those signals get congested fast—like a highway at rush hour. They're standing with the people—not applauding a president who is making their lives worse.

Immigrants and their families—who are living through the terror of Trump's ICE raids. Rep. Delia Ramirez will share visuals honoring those who have been killed by ICE agents in our communities. Survivors of Jeffrey Epstein's abuse—who will speak out about a president who continues to abuse his power to protect himself and Epstein's network. Epstein survivors are scheduled to speak tonight. Trump won't mention them tonight. We will.
People losing their health care—who will represent the more than 20 million Americans whose monthly health care costs have skyrocketed because Trump and congressional Republicans ripped away subsidies and gutted Medicaid. Health insurance premiums are 119% higher for working families because of choices Republicans made. Tonight, those families get to speak.
Voices for housing and affordability—because Trump isn't going to say a single word tonight about your rent, your groceries, or your utility bills. But the people on the National Mall will.
All of these voices—every single one of them—could go dark tonight without satellite backup. Don't let that happen.
