That goodbye begins this hero's journey into basic training, where strength, sacrifice and commitment define each day. Separated from family and friends, often for the first time, our protectors move forward with determination and pride, knowing their sacrifice is part of something bigger than themselves.
"I know from my personal experience a lot of new recruits have never left home before," says one service member. "And they are going off to basic training. It might be across the country, away from home and from loved ones."
