We fight back for democracy. We fight back for every voter's right to be heard. We fight back for a government that answers to the will of the people and doesn't trample over all our freedoms. And right now, we've got our work cut out for us, so we're asking if you can pitch in to help hit our next monthly grassroots fundraising goal of 2026 by midnight tonight.  Here's why it's so critical to help keep our numbers on track: This year, we'll need to elect Democracy Champions up and down the ballot — in critical races nearly every month this year that will help decide how elections are run and whether voters face unjust obstacles on the way to the ballot box.   We're also actively recruiting, training, and supporting Democracy Watch volunteers to monitor County Board of Registration and Elections and Board of Commissioners meetings — so we can track changes that affect voting access and procedures, call out any "funny business," and stand up for the freedom to vote in the rooms where key decisions are made.   Throughout 2026, we'll need to expose, mitigate, and thwart the far right's voter suppression efforts as they try to dodge accountability in the midterm elections.   And if the Supreme Court, as expected, clears the way for Republican state lawmakers to draw new racially discriminatory voting maps that give them a generation-long grip on power, we'll need to push back head-on.
