Trump is pushing the U.S. to the brink of war with Iran, Pamela:
Without justification, or even explanation, he's sent "two aircraft carriers, a dozen warships, hundreds of fighter jets and multiple air defense systems" to the region. It's the largest buildup of warplanes in the Middle East since the 2003 invasion of Iraq — and experts are sounding the alarm that it is the setup for a "massive, weeks-long campaign."[1]
We have the narrowest window of time to prevent a new endless war.
We can't overstate the danger of this moment. Congress can — and must — pull us off the path toward a war that no one wants. Fortunately, Reps. Ro Khanna (D-CA) and Thomas Massie (R-KY) could force a vote on a war powers resolution in the House as soon as next week. We can't afford for Congress to wait one more second, Pamela: To get lawmakers to act NOW, they need to hear from tens of thousands of constituents, from people like you.
Sign on to tell Congress: Pass a war powers resolution to stop war with Iran.
| ACT NOW |
Make no mistake: Any strikes, and particularly a weeks-long campaign, will be devastating to people in Iran and risk the lives of people across the region, including servicemembers stationed across the Middle East.
It's everyday people who will bear the brunt of further violence — the same ones who are already struggling and protesting under brutal governments and a broken status quo as they work to assert their rights and freedoms. Burying them under rubble will never build true safety and peace, no matter what Trump, Israeli PM Netanyahu, or any other war hawk says.
When Trump made a bet on war last summer when he ordered strikes against Iranian nuclear facilities, we mobilized to push back and remind him that we, the people, reject another war. We did it in 2020, too, when Trump pushed us to the brink of war with Iran by ordering the assassination of a senior Iranian military leader. Within days, we mobilized hundreds of thousands of people to sign petitions, make calls, and take to the streets to demand Congress pull us back from the brink of war.
Together, as the threat of war looms, we're jumping into action once more. Join us.
Thank you for working for peace,
The Win Without War team
