Pamela - in a new lawsuit, Chevron is accused of damaging 2,000 miles of Louisiana's precious coastline through offshore drilling. And rather than preemptively paying Louisiana's communities back, they're in court, hoping to evade responsibility and get away with billions of dollars in damages.
Now, Chevron is going to try to beat the system. The company knows it's more likely to have a sympathetic ear in the corporate-friendly federal court system than in Louisiana, so it's abusing our justice system to try to get the case moved.
Chevron should not evade responsibility. For almost 85 years, Chevron desecrated the state of Louisiana. Send a message to Chevron's CEO to tell him to stop evading his company's responsibility to the people of Louisiana.
In recent years, federal courts have become more and more corporation friendly; caring about profits over people. And Chevron is counting on that by trying to move their case out of Louisiana.
Corporations like Chevron should be held responsible for the billions of gallons of oil dumped in Louisiana. Take a moment to write to Chevron's CEO to take responsibility for the damage done in Louisiana.
Thank you,
