Dear MoveOn member,
Pam Bondi has made her agenda as attorney general for the Department of Justice clear: protect the powerful and the Trump administration. Her justice system is not for the people.
This week, Bondi testified for nearly five hours over the DOJ's release of the Epstein files—and she clearly was not ready to take accountability for their actions. Instead, she spent the entire testimony attacking Democrats, deflecting from the truth, and protecting Donald Trump.1
The Department of Justice's handling of the Epstein files is nothing short of a failure for bringing justice to survivors and an effort to protect powerful predators in the billionaire class.
During a powerful moment, Representative Pramila Jayapal asked the survivors in the room to stand up and raise their hands if they haven't been able to meet with Bondi's Department of Justice. All hands were raised, and at that moment, Bondi refused to look their way and refused to apologize for the poor handling of the release.2
Pam Bondi promised transparency into the release of the Epstein files and any investigations, yet she oversaw scrubbing names from the public release of the Epstein list. Every day Bondi delays the truth is another day of protecting Trump and Epstein's powerful friends.
Bondi is failing at her job and failing the American people. Will you sign the petition now to demand that she resign or be impeached?
The Department of Justice released millions of pages of the Epstein files, where they claim the delay was due to protecting victims and redacting anything that could conflict with current investigations. They still ended up releasing survivors' names, along with pictures and videos, further putting them at risk and violating their privacy—all while refusing to meet with them and redacting the names of Epstein's co-conspirators.3
Congress members are allowed to review the unredacted files, but not without the Department of Justice spying on them and tracking the records they viewed.4 Representative Jamie Raskin claimed that when searching for Trump's name in the unredacted files, there were over a million results.5 We know the truth, this was never about protecting survivors, it's about protecting Trump. Add your name now to demand that Pam Bondi must go!
Bondi has weaponized the Department of Justice to push her political agenda and protect Donald Trump. She wasted resources launching investigations to seek revenge on anyone who sought to prosecute Trump or challenge his agenda—including Jack Smith, New York Attorney General Letitia James, Federal Reserve Board member Lisa Cook, and more.6
In the recent killings in Minnesota, Bondi has used her power to protect the federal agents involved instead of allowing for full, transparent investigations to take place, despite Renee Good and Alex Pretti's deaths being ruled as homicides by the medical examiner.7,8 In Renee Good's case, the Department of Justice refused to open a civil rights investigation, leading to resignations and a clear mismanagement of the case.9 In Alex Pretti's case, the DOJ declined to open a civil rights investigation into his killing, and reversed their decision only after receiving backlash.10
Bondi even sent a ransom note to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz outlining her demands in exchange for pulling ICE out of the state, including giving the Trump administration private voter data in order to control the midterm elections.11
Enough is enough. We need an attorney general who is committed to bringing justice for the American people, not weaponizing their power in order to push Trump's authoritarian agenda. The Department of Justice should be focused on protecting our communities; instead, they're overstepping their federal powers to control vulnerable communities, attack political opponents, and hide the truth.
Sign the petition now, and share with three friends!
Thanks for all you do.
