Hi there – I’m Alice, a Clinical Manager at Save the Children’s Emergency Health Unit working in Turkana, Kenya, where over 80,000 children are affected by a drought crisis. Our main priority is to reach them with the support they need as quickly as possible. Malnutrition has made it hard for children to thrive, learn and enjoy their childhood. But with our help, children are returning to a healthy life. Our Operations Manager and I traveled to a rural community to respond to this crisis, working closely with staff from Save the Children’s Turkana Field Office, a local partner organization and Ministry of Health workers. With my Save the Children colleagues, I’ve produced a short diary about our Emergency Health Unit and the impact we’ve had on families in Kenya. You’ll get an inside look at the work supporters like you make possible for children. |
