Dear MoveOn member,
On Tuesday, when Trump takes the stage for his State of the Union address, we'll be running a counterevent, standing with the people he's hurt the most.
Trump's devastation is real, and it demands a unified response. That's why, this year, we're coming together with some of our most powerful allies and organizations in direct contrast to his cruelty.
We asked members of Congress to join us and impacted constituents, to boycott the State of the Union and to tell the real story of America in 2026: one of resilience, organizing, community, and resistance to Trump's hatred.
RSVP to join the livestream with MoveOn, MeidasTouch, Joy Reid, and Katie Phang with Democratic members of Congress, grassroots partners, and impacted storytellers.
For years, going back to his first presidency, Trump has used the State of the Union to paint a false picture of strength while enacting policies that rip health care away from families, drive up costs for working people, and have lasting global consequences for our allies across the globe.
The chaos, cruelty, and callousness in Trump's second term have only gotten worse. Trump has pushed for mass deportations of our neighbors, turbocharging a reckless, violent Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency that's killed multiple civilians and injured and traumatized countless others.
Trump's "Big Ugly Bill" took away hundreds of millions of dollars for programs like Medicaid and SNAP that provided a lifeline of stability for millions of Americans nationwide. Trump and every member of his corrupt administration have sabotaged health care access for millions, decimated our diplomatic relations with a multitude of countries, and more.
While Trump spreads division and lies in the House chamber, Democratic champions, impacted families and storytellers, and grassroots leaders will gather for a powerful counterprogram rally to show what true leadership looks like—grounded in compassion, justice, and, most importantly, truth. RSVP now to join the livestream next week.
This isn't just about standing against Trump's rhetoric. It's about showing the country what we're actually fighting for: dignity, respect, and justice for all of us. When we show up together, our unity becomes the story.
We have the majority on our side. We have the truth on our side. What we need now is visibility and amplification.
Join the livestream next week, share it widely, and help us make sure the country knows we haven't given up—and there's a powerful, organized opposition against Trump's tyranny.
Thanks for all you do.
–Nakia, Mia, Matthew, AD, and the rest of the team
P.S. Every Democrat needs to get the message that we're stronger united, and we cannot enable Trump to have yet another moment in the spotlight. Take a few minutes to send a letter to your senators and representatives to encourage them to BOYCOTT TRUMP'S STATE OF THE UNION.
