Friend, no matter how difficult the road becomes, no matter how remote the community or how urgent the need, we will always find a way to reach children. That promise isn’t aspirational — it’s something our staff lives out every day, in places few others can reach. Alice, a clinical manager for Save the Children’s Emergency Health Unit, and her team are a shining example of this dedication.   Alice and her team bring lifesaving care to families who live hours – or even days – away from the nearest clinic. In these arid, isolated regions, children face preventable illness and malnutrition simply because food is scarce and help is so far away. So our care teams travel to them instead. Carrying medical supplies over rough terrain, they set up mobile health units under open skies. There, Alice and her team provide treatment for malnutrition, vaccinations, prenatal care and emergency support to families who otherwise have nowhere to turn. Today, I’m asking you to send a message of support to Alice and her team, who face arduous journeys and unforgiving conditions to bring support to children and families in Kenya. ❤️ Your message can show our team and the families they support that we’re thinking of them in these challenging times. ❤️   Baby Machuu receives a check-up from a midwife at our Emergency Health Unit site in Kenya. Lucy is one of the mothers who received support from our Emergency Health Unit in Kenya. When she went into labor, she knew she couldn’t reach the nearest hospital, which was miles away. So she started walking to our Emergency Health Unit site. But the pain was too much, and Lucy collapsed. One of our midwives rushed to help her, racing her to the hospital in one of our emergency vehicles, where baby Machuu was born. Since then, we’ve been providing post-natal check-ups and vaccinations to both Lucy and Machuu. That moment — when care reaches a mother or child just in time — is what drives us forward, even in the most challenging conditions. It’s how we’re putting children first, no matter what. Your message to Alice and her team shows your commitment to putting children first, too. Friend, I’m so grateful to have you by our side.
