Pamela, that was unhinged. Donald Trump just went on primetime television to reheat his election denier leftovers — hefty portions of straight-up lies and crackpot conspiracy theories with a side of allegations that, if true, raise a lot of questions about the incompetence of his own administration. It’s all nonsense, of course. He knows it. Congress knows it. The vast, vast majority of the American people know it. What we see is a sad, desperate man who can’t handle the fact that he lost an election six years ago and is terrified to face voters now, knowing that 61% of them disapprove of the job he’s doing. But we can’t laugh this off. What we just witnessed is truly dangerous. This administration is escalating the rate at which they churn out intentional misinformation — because they are determined to cheat to win. Checks and balances aren’t coming to the rescue — not while Washington is run by Trump sycophants and our courts have repeatedly demonstrated they’ll overlook precedent to help their preferred party’s electoral outlook. Our efforts to protect access to the ballot just got even more important. This fight is on our doorstep — what we do now will determine how well we can take on the Trump-led efforts to undermine democracy this fall and in the years to come. Please, if you can, rush in a donation today. Thank you, Brianna Shamsuddoha

We can’t laugh this off:
