Trump used a speech last night to spread his MAGA election lies, attack mail voting, push his extreme voter ID bill, and sow chaos ahead of the midterm elections.
"Mail-in ballots are inherently corrupt," Trump said as he promoted his Big Lie that so-called mass non-citizen voting, foreign interference, and the "deep state" stole the election from him. All so he can take authoritarian control of our democratic elections before November.
Some networks refused to carry Trump's propaganda and much of the media panned the speech. But Trump is deadset on rigging the midterms. He's even floated running for a 3rd term. Congress must take urgent action against Trump's dangerous legislation and executive orders.

Not much has changed with Trump's election lies since the start of his second term, but he's getting more desperate with the midterms fast approaching.
Courts continue to rule against his plans to seize state voter data and effectively ban mail voting. That didn't stop his loyalists at the Department of Justice from threatening to arrest election officials who refuse to implement Trump's authoritarian election orders.
Trump is trying to hold Congress hostage unless they pass the SAVE Act, a bill that would disenfranchise tens of millions of people with severe obstacles to voting and registering to vote. He has launched a full-scale attack on mail-in voting and Democratic states resisting his illegal orders.
This latest speech is yet another attempt by a strongman to take full control of American elections. Congress must stop him.
