What the latest polling means for our fight to flip the GA House:

The path to victory is clear. But it depends on raising enough resources to reach enough voters. 

Democrats only need to flip 10 seats to gain control of the Georgia State House this November — and new polling shows a clear path to victory in 13 battleground districts that we tested. But that’s only IF we’re able to make the case to enough voters in the next few weeks. In 12 of those seats, Democrats started out behind in the polling but came out ahead or tied once voters heard about both candidates’ records and plans. In the 13th seat, the Democrat ended up just one point down, within the margin of error. We know the information that voters need to hear. We know who we need to reach. But we need the resources to get that information to voters through our “GA Takes the House” campaign — in their mailboxes, in their social media feeds, on their phone screens, and through targeted get-out-the-vote outreach. And it shows: in less access to healthcare, in underfunded public schools, and in tax giveaways for the wealthy. They’re able to push through just about any law they want. Flipping the State House would break the GOP monopoly and block their extreme legislation. It would also give Democrats a seat at the table when new voting maps are drawn. And a Democratic Georgia State House would be the only legislative chamber in the South not controlled by the GOP. But it’s only going to be a reality if we reach enough voters in the final weeks of this election. Most people don’t know the candidates on their ballot. So our path to victory depends on defining the Democratic candidates and drawing clear contrasts with the Republican candidates. That means getting our messages in front of more voters.
