| The New York Times: "A Trump Veto Leaves Republicans in Colorado Parched and Bewildered" Pamela, at first glance, this might not look like a story about a failed attempt to overthrow an election. But with Donald Trump, many roads lead back to his easily bruised ego and his refusal to accept the fact that he lost in 2020. Recently, he vetoed a bipartisan bill that Congress had passed unanimously to help ensure people in rural Colorado had access to clean drinking water. And his action seems to fit into a broader pressure campaign against the state — moving the Space Force headquarters out of Colorado, trying to keep transportation and child care funding away from the state, and shutting down a critical scientific research center in Boulder. Why Colorado? Well, he's also been calling for the release of his MAGA ally Tina Peters. She was a county clerk in Colorado and was convicted and sentenced to prison for sharing unauthorized access to the county election system when she was trying to back up unfounded conspiracy theories about so-called fraud in the 2020 election. Now Trump seems willing to punish the people of Colorado until she's free to try to overthrow another election. These are the actions of a petty, vindictive bully who refuses to accept defeat at the ballot box. Who won't rest until he's consolidated control. But we are fighting back against his MAGA movement's attacks on democracy. Chip in now to help grow our pro-voter movement — and help defend free and fair elections from attempts to overthrow the will of the people.
