Sign the petition: ICE out of Minnesota NOW!
Dear MoveOn member,
Under the direction of the Trump administration, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is terrorizing residents in Minnesota—showing up at places like schools, churches, and hospitals to lawlessly abduct people and intimidate peaceful protestors. Minnesota is under siege, and it's ground zero for what Trump is hoping to replicate in cities and states across the country.
Despite widespread opposition from everyday Minnesotans and local and state elected officials, the Trump administration is not only refusing to end the occupation—it is ramping it up. As Trump has threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act in Minnesota, the Pentagon has readied 1,500 active-duty soldiers to be deployed to the state, against the directive of state leaders.1
Right now, ICE agents outnumber the Minneapolis police force 5-to-1.2 The state of Minnesota has not requested any active military to come. The administration is doing everything it can to escalate rather than deescalate, and the Insurrection Act is part of that plan.
What Minnesotans need is for ICE to leave for good. Not for the federal government to send the military to exacerbate a crisis of their own making.
We need the Trump administration to know that Americans everywhere are watching what is happening on the ground in Minnesota, and that we WILL NOT allow a police state to take hold. Will you sign the petition?
Minnesotans are doing everything in their power to meet this moment with courage and resilience. They are funneling money into mutual aid, hosting food and donation drives, patrolling schools and neighborhoods, filling the streets in protest, holding vigils, and striking.
But they are up against brute and inhumane force.
Last week, a family trying to get home from a basketball game in Minneapolis was tear-gassed by agents in their car—the mother had to give her infant child CPR.3 This week, ICE agents broke into a house in St. Paul and forcibly removed an elderly man from his home in freezing temperatures, only to find out later they'd abducted the wrong person.4 These stories are horrific, and there are countless other violations of our rights happening every day. We need to show that Minnesotans are not alone—that people across the country are in solidarity and fighting back against this administration's cruel and illegal actions.
Join the more than 48,000 MoveOn members who have signed the petition opposing Trump's militarized occupation of Minnesota, and then share with three friends to help us cross the 100K mark and get the attention of press, elected officials, and the administration.
Thanks for all you do.

Sign the petition: End Trump's militarized occupation in Minnesota!
Dear MoveOn member,
Last week, Renee Good, a mother of three, was murdered by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Minneapolis.5 This week, a father in Minneapolis was taken to the hospital after being shot in the leg by an ICE agent.6
Thousands of ICE agents have descended in Minnesota. They have tear-gassed students and educators, assaulted and brutalized people in public, and terrorized people outside businesses, hospitals, and places of worship.
And now, Trump is threatening to invoke the Insurrection Act against the will of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and state leaders, effectively turning the U.S. military against Minnesotans.7 Trump is intentionally sowing disorder and violence in order to manufacture a crisis and justify a military presence in our city's streets and neighborhoods.
This is a watershed moment, and we must be loud, unified, and overwhelming in our opposition. Add your name to the petition NOW and demand an END to Trump's militarized occupation in Minnesota.
The chaos in Minnesota is exactly the future the Trump administration is trying to terrorize into existence across the country. A future of fear, abuse, and control at the hands of our government.
But everyday people are showing up in Minnesota to fight for a different future. Minnesotans are patrolling schools to make sure kids get to school safely, organizing meal drop-offs so neighbors are fed, and monitoring the streets to ensure that people's rights and freedoms are defended. We each have the responsibility and duty to join them in that fight, to ensure that we decide our future, not Trump.
We will not concede our country to Trump's campaign of terror. Add your name to the petition to demand an end to Trump's militarized occupation in Minnesota NOW!
Trump is acting above the law, and he is weaponizing federal agencies like ICE to instill fear and silence dissent. Agents are violating the law and Constitution—breaking and entering, speeding and crashing into cars, and kidnapping and abusing people.8,9,10 They're sowing violence in our communities to meet Trump's mass deportation quotas.
And, with the Insurrection Act, Trump wants to turn the temperature up even more and deploy active-duty troops and the National Guard to our cities. Servicemembers are supposed to sign up to protect our national security and help our communities during genuine emergencies—not to police our streets. But under the guidance of Trump, we can predict how the military will be used against the people to further spy on, terrorize, control, and hurt the American people.
We see the propaganda the Trump administration is trying to churn out and the lies it is spinning. And, together, we can expose it and stop it.
Add your name to the petition to say NO to ICE, NO to the Insurrection Act, and NO to any militarized presence in Minnesota or any other U.S. state.
Trump is trying to establish a police state in Minnesota. But we won't let him. Minnesotans have a right to peacefully protest, organize, and defend their freedoms without the president and the government threatening to quell that speech by turning the military against them.
Last week, members like you attended peaceful protests and vigils during our ICE Out for Good weekend of action with the ACLU, Indivisible, and partners across the country. This is just the beginning. We'll follow up with petition signers with more ways to take action, show up in solidarity with Minnesota residents and immigrant communities everywhere, and defend against Trump's militarized assault against the people.
Sign the petition, and then share with three friends so we can show up strong and coordinated in the fight ahead.
Thanks for all you do.
