With the help of our generous donor community, we’ve made a difference in the lives of children in: - Afghanistan, where we’ve kept healthcare services running for vulnerable infants.
- Syria, where we’ve ensured children have access to ready-to-use therapeutic food.
- Somalia, where we’ve kept clinics open to provide lifesaving services.
These are just a few examples of how our donors have helped continue programs for children caught in conflict, disaster and poverty – like Hamza* in Syria. Humanitarian aid funding cuts caused a critical shortage of ready-to-use therapeutic food, a lifesaving treatment for severely malnourished children. But with support from donors like you, we’re still providing this treatment, which was vital to Hamza’s health. When Hamza became malnourished, neighbors told his family about Save the Children’s nutrition clinic. Hamza's mother, Zalikha*, took him there, where he received a treatment plan with ready-to-use therapeutic foods – and started to improve immediately. Thanks to this lifesaving treatment, Hamza is now getting the nutrition he needs to grow and thrive. As we move forward in 2026, the world is still grappling with severely reduced humanitarian aid funding, even as needs intensify. Save the Children remains committed to delivering urgent humanitarian assistance and long-term support in 113 countries worldwide. We’re innovating, partnering and streamlining our efforts to ensure children come first. Always and everywhere. Thank you for being part of our community and believing in a safer, more hopeful world for children everywhere. With gratitude, Save the Children |
