I want to be transparent with you

Hi, I want to take this moment to be truly transparent with you.

I chatted with my finance director, Lexie, and we determined we have to increase our daily goal to $500,000 in this final stretch. We need to raise more money to keep this campaign in fighting shape. Will you help me out with a donation of $5 right now?

Here’s some more context on why I need your help at this exact moment:

The GOP is spending $4 million a DAY against me.

They are flooding the airwaves with ads that smear my record and misrepresent my values. They are sending mailers to voters’ homes to try to tip the scales in Husted’s favor. They are doing whatever it takes to stop us from winning and flipping this seat.

Look, I’ve told you over and over, but this is truly the most expensive race this election season. Peter Thiel, Elon Musk, Donald Trump, the Winklevoss twins, crypto super PACs – each one is dumping millions into this race to stop us from winning.

But despite all the cash, we’ve kept this a close race. Everyone counted us out, but with Ohio a true toss-up, and with poll after poll showing me neck and neck with Jon Husted, we can still win this thing. I just need your help to do it.

So today, we have two options: We either need 500 more folks to chip in than we usually see to help us reach our new daily goal of $500,000, or we need the folks already planning on chipping in to give a little more.

On any other day, I’d ask folks making their first donation to give just $5. Today, will you donate $7.50, or even $10, so I can close the gap on my new daily goal before midnight, win in Ohio, and retake the Senate?
