Hey Pamela, Alex here! 👋
I’m Alex Witt, the Senior Advisor for Elections here at Climate Power. My specialty is analyzing how the climate issues we face today intersect with our electoral politics -- and how we win races in 2026 and 2028 to seed a better future. And trust me, Pamela, it goes MUCH deeper than you may realize.
Don’t get me wrong, caring about the environment doesn’t necessarily mean that you know every congressional vote or piece of climate legislation moving through Capitol Hill! Let me break it down:
When someone opens their electric bill, they deserve to know how their elected officials have impacted the price they pay.
When someone is worried about the air they’re breathing and pollution in their town, they deserve to know who has pushed to protect clean air versus who is slashing protections to put polluting industries first.
And when someone is deciding who to vote for at the ballot box, they deserve more than an empty promise from a politician. They deserve to know about that candidate’s record on the issues impacting their community -- including who their donors are.
This is exactly why Climate Power exists. We’re leading the charge to educate voters, fight for accountability from elected officials, and help folks bring climate concerns into their everyday conversations. Will you chip in to power this work?
Honestly, I tend to think of Climate Power as climate’s campaign manager. Because here at Climate Power, we make sure that information reaches people where they are -- from news headlines to TV interviews to social media. We push back when opponents distort the truth, and we keep passionate people like you informed and ready to act. Our research guides all of this work -- helping us understand what matters to people and how to turn these concerns into lasting political power.
Because guess what? A conversation you have with a friend about their energy bill can become a conversation about who has the power to do something about it.
This is how we win the politics of climate. Big Oil and its allies have every reason to keep voters from looking too closely at their records. And that means we have every reason to make sure it’s abundantly clear whose side they're on -- but this takes sustained work and resources.
Will you make a contribution so Climate Power can keep researching, educating, and holding elected officials accountable?
If you've stored your info with ActBlue Express, we'll process your contribution instantly:
Here’s to building lasting climate political power,
Alex
