Pamela, for years, New Yorkers grew disillusioned with a politics that didn’t dare to challenge the status quo.
Then last year, we chose hope, together.
New Yorkers voted for something new: The promise of a politics that would stand up to corporate greed, that would demand more instead of settling for less, that would work day in and day out to solve problems big and small.
We shouldn’t have to look to the history books for a Democratic administration that delivers for the people. Because of what we’re building together, we won’t have to. Together, we are building a New Era for New York City.
Continuing to turn that hope into action will take all of us.
I’ll never lose sight of the fact that your hope is what got us here — but we also cannot lose sight of the fact that this is a people-powered movement, and there are plenty of opponents who would love to see our movement fail.
It will take time, investment, and more people than before to build an operation ready to stand up to those that want to cast our success as an exception instead of the new norm.
We have to keep up our work in order to succeed. So, will you sign up to be part of our growing movement?
Thank you,
Zohran Mamdani
