Petition to Congress: We urge you to oppose any bill to reauthorize FISA surveillance unless it closes the data broker and backdoor search loopholes. We urge you to oppose Jay Clayton for director of national intelligence.

Trump picked unqualified MAGA loyalist Bill Pulte to be the acting director of national intelligence (DNI) — placing another dangerous authoritarian ally in a powerful government position.
Bipartisan outrage over Pulte delayed Trump and Stephen Miller's efforts to extend their mass surveillance powers via Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA). So, Trump nominated a different loyalist for DNI, Jay Clayton, who has parroted the White House's anti-democratic election propaganda.
This is all part of Trump's ambitions to rig the midterms AND his latest scheme to pass his dream mass surveillance bill. Lawmakers must say NO to Pulte, Clayton, and Trump's AI-supercharged spying on our private communications and data!
Sign the petition: Tell Congress to reject Trump's AI-powered surveillance of Americans.
Senator Mark Warner called Pulte "grossly unqualified" and said that tapping him to lead American intelligence agencies is a "disaster."
42 Democrats in the House voted with Trump this spring to extend FISA without privacy protections, and other Democrats signaled they would do the same — rubber-stamp Trump's expansion and weaponization of America's massive surveillance state.
Warner and some other Democrats have worked with Republicans to pass FISA without critical privacy reforms. And a bipartisan group of Senators could be ready to rubber-stamp Trump's spying extension if they confirm Clayton for DNI.
A clear majority of Americans do not want the Trump administration looking through our personal data. If the White House and congressional leadership want to renew FISA, they must pass real privacy reforms, and close dangerous spying loopholes.
Our lawmakers must hear our opposition NOW and vote to protect our privacy from government overreach.
Sign the petition: Block Trump's authoritarian, AI-powered spying bill!
