One year ago this month, friends, Republicans passed the Big, Ugly Bill, and called it beautiful. It wasn't beautiful. It was a betrayal. They made the largest health care cuts in American history to hand more than a trillion dollars in tax breaks to billionaires and big corporations. One year later, families across the country are paying the price. This November, we make them answer for it, but only if we get the truth in front of voters now. Chip in today: DONATE Here's what one year of this law has actually done. They gutted your health care. Fifteen million Americans are set to lose their coverage, and 5 million already have. Premiums have more than doubled for nearly 22 million families. More than a thousand hospitals and clinics are closing or on the brink, and rural communities are getting hit the hardest. They took food off the table. More than 4 million people were kicked off food assistance, including over 800,000 children, and that's just in the thirteen states we have data for. In every single state, families lost help feeding their kids. They drove up your costs. The average family is paying $213 more on utility bills since Trump took office, with rates up 16% nationally and climbing, thanks to Republicans' own energy cuts. And they did it all to make the rich richer. The top 1% pocketed more than a trillion dollars in tax cuts, while the poorest Americans face a $2,000 tax hike and multimillionaires walk away with $300,000. It's the single largest transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich in American history. A reverse Robin Hood. They cut your health care to fund their donors' tax breaks and bet you wouldn't notice — or wouldn't remember by November. We will fight to make sure every American remembers.
