Husted is 0-for-Ohio

Hi,

If you know Sherrod Brown, you know the guy loves baseball. Especially the Guardians. So today, we're breaking this race down in terms our fellow baseball fans will understand.

Top of the first: National Republicans think Jon Husted is an all-star. They handed him a Senate seat – no election, just called him up and put him in the lineup.

Turns out he has no idea how to hit for Ohio. He's been striking out ever since.

He struck out on health care, voting to strip coverage from millions to pay for a tax break for the wealthy. He struck out on tariffs that raised prices for Ohio families. And on data centers, he didn't just strike out – he recruited the pitcher, cut him a deal, and then told the fans it was their fault the game was going badly.

Then Sherrod stepped up to the plate. Almost every major political analyst moved Ohio to a Toss Up. The polls tightened, and suddenly the race that experts had written off in the preseason is the key to flipping the Senate.

That's what happens when you put a guy in the lineup who's been hitting for working people his entire career.

Now we're rounding the bases. Election Day is in 78 days, and the other side has committed $133 million to this race. That's a payroll we're never going to match. What we've got instead is regular folks chipping in what they can and a grassroots team that’s outworking everybody. If you follow the Guardians, that's a formula you might recognize.
