Pamela, let’s talk about Stephen Miller.
The other week, the DNC went after Stephen Miller on Twitter and it was… something!
I’m not naïve; I know Stephen Miller is responsible for some of Trump’s cruelest policies: the infamous “Muslim ban,” the abduction of thousands of people away from their families, [1] and most recently the unsanctioned war with Iran. [2]
And I know he will not rest until America looks a lot less like the country you and I want: diverse, fair, and free.
But here at Common Cause, we do things differently. We know that these mean words don’t change policies. They actually make guys like Miller more emboldened.
Our approach? Taking on bullies like Miller – with effective action to show the best antidote to their dangerous and hateful policies is We The People.
Pamela, you don’t have to take my word for it. Last year, we took on Elon Musk when he decided to unleash his slash-and-burn campaign on our safety net. This year, we took on Kristi Noem when she decided to unleash ICE to harass, terrorize, and even kill our neighbors and community members.
And we won both fights, because people power will always win.
I’ll be honest, Pamela: there’s a lot going on. Between our lawsuit against Trump’s $1.8 billion slush fund, our efforts to push back against mid-decade redistricting, and our Election Protection program – which is the largest we’ve ever attempted in a midterm year - we have a lot on our plates.
But there’s no fight more important than this one – making sure America (and more specifically, our government) lives up to its promise and treats everyone with dignity and respect.
Tweeting at Stephen Miller is fun, but grassroots organizing and ensuring that every American has a voice in our future is what really gets under his skin.
If you’re ready to make a real impact, consider chipping in $5 - because nothing infuriates this guy more than seeing We The People win. Chip in now >>
