Today’s Supreme Court decision

Hi, the Supreme Court just issued the worst ruling for campaign finances since Citizens United and changed the playing field for the rest of our election.

I’m alarmed. Angry. Worried about what comes next. But I’m also reminded of just how important this Senate race is – and what could happen to our country if we fail to win it this November.

Let me be very clear: The reason we have an ultra-conservative majority on the Supreme Court right now is because of President Trump and his Republican allies in the Senate.

Trump always set out to stack the Court with justices who would help him rewrite our laws for the benefit of billionaires and corporations – and the Republican Senate majority has bent the knee, ready to confirm his judicial nominees who promise to do exactly that.

Now, they’re making the American people pay the price. This latest Republican power grab gives the big donors who fuel the Republican party even more power in races like ours. They’ve already committed over $100 million against me, and that amount is about to skyrocket.

I know that at times like this, it’s easy to feel hopeless – like we have no power to change anything at all. But the opposite is true. We have an incredible opportunity to change the course of our democracy and flip the Senate, and it lies right here in Ohio.

With experts saying that this race could decide Senate control, a win here would mean taking back the majority. Regaining control of the judicial nominee process. Undoing the harm that Trump and Republicans have caused and pushing for more, for better.

And given that there are reports coming out about potential Supreme Court retirements over the next two years, the stakes truly couldn’t be any higher.

So today, I’m asking you to turn your anger into action and make a donation to my grassroots campaign. This is the most consequential Senate race in the country – one I can win, but only if I have folks like you by my side. Please chip in.
