Big update on Georgia’s map-rigging process:

But Brian Kemp still wants to go ahead with trying to silence Black and brown voters

NEWS: After hundreds of Georgians packed the Capitol to say no to new racist voting maps, House and Senate leaders now want to kill redistricting.

But Gov. Brian Kemp wants to move forward and rig the maps — this fight isn’t over.

Defend fair elections with fair maps.

Pamela,

First: Georgia Governor Brian Kemp called a special session to redraw Georgia’s congressional and state legislative districts and gut representation for Black and brown voters.

Then: We organized at the grassroots level. We mobilized Georgians to call Kemp and key lawmakers and tell them to oppose racist maps. We showed up with hundreds of Georgians filling the Capitol as the special session was about to begin. We showed the power of the people.

And it made a difference: House and Senate leaders just announced they want to take new voting maps off the agenda. They’re afraid of the power of our voices and our votes.

Now: But Brian Kemp and the Lieutenant Governor still want to proceed with rigging the maps. So this fight isn’t over, and we can’t get complacent.

We must continue to show that Georgians oppose the scheme to rig our maps and block our voices. Rush a donation of any amount to keep up the fight.

In solidarity,

The Fair Fight Action Team
