Team —

Juneteenth is a day for us to not only reflect and remember history, but to also think about how that translates to where we are in this moment.

After the Supreme Court further gutted the Voting Rights Act, we must look at what's happening in the South, where there is an attempt to cheat and marginalize Black and brown voters.

This is a moment for us to remember that the fight for justice for equality lives on.

While we celebrate the wonderful moments that are part of the tradition of Juneteenth, we must also dedicate ourselves to the action that we all have a duty to perform to make the promise of America real.

Given the most recent Supreme Court decision, we must continue our fight to ensure voting rights and voting access are real for all Americans.

So if you’re looking for a way to continue that fight this Juneteenth, please use this link to support my work supporting for voting rights in this year’s midterm elections and beyond: https://act.kamalaharris.com/go/When-We-Fight

As a United States Senator, I was proud to co-sponsor a bill to make this day a federal holiday.

As Vice President of the United States, it was my honor to stand beside Opal Lee, the grandmother of Juneteenth, as President Biden signed that bill into law.

Today and every day, let us celebrate the heroes of this movement and keep fighting for the work that lies ahead.

Thank you and take care,

Kamala
