Pamela: Another government could soon have “incredible leverage” over the Pentagon’s priorities if this provision makes it into a must-pass bill Congress is currently negotiating.[1]
The “U.S.-Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative,” buried within this year’s National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), would effectively FUSE the Pentagon and Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in a one-of-a-kind military alliance.
It’s a boon for weapons lobbyists and special interest groups — and they’re hoping we won’t notice, or worse, that we won’t care.
But even as these bills head to the floor, bipartisan alliances in Congress that would stop this dangerous plan in its tracks are emerging. With critical votes looming, now is our moment to overwhelm lawmakers with opposition to make this provision too toxic to touch.
Write your lawmakers today, demanding they reject a dangerous Pentagon-IDF partnership!

Tens of billions of dollars in military aid to the Israeli government, spyware sales, and law enforcement trainings later, Congress is considering binding our militaries and weapons industries even more tightly together.
If passed as part of this year’s NDAA, this “initiative” would narrow congressionally mandated oversight over military aid and arms sales to the Israeli government even further, moving beyond aid and toward permanent integration: joint weapons development, shared technology initiatives, expanded licensing agreements, and closer coordination between the two military-industrial systems.
To put it plainly: It’s a recipe for less transparency, less accountability, and less scrutiny — from the public, and even from decision-makers in Congress.
The timing is no coincidence. Public opinion is shifting. U.S. taxpayers are questioning our government’s blank check approach to the Israeli government. The coalition of lawmakers demanding accountability for the Israeli military’s violence in Lebanon, the West Bank, Gaza, and beyond is growing.
Reps. Ro Khanna (D-CA), Thomas Massie (R-KY), and others have already spoken out against this provision and pledged to fight it on the House floor. Now, it’s our job to get more lawmakers to join them. The people most likely to convince members of Congress? Constituents like you, Pamela.
Thank you for working for peace,
