RSVP NOW: Join our rapid response member call to break down the Supreme Court’s latest attack on voting rights – and what we do next >>
Pamela, this week, the Supreme Court gutted another major piece of the Voting Rights Act – one of the most hard-won policy victories of the Civil Rights Movement.
With a 6-3 ruling in Louisiana v. Callais, the Court all but ended a core protection that ensured communities of color have a right to fair districts where they can elect candidates of their choice – opening the door for politicians to gerrymander Black and Brown voters into silence.
This ruling puts fair representation – and the future of a multiracial democracy – at risk across the country, especially in the South.
But this fight isn’t over. That’s why we’re bringing our community together on Wednesday, May 6 at 7pm EDT / 4pm PDT for an urgent, action-focused member call with leaders from Common Cause, Transformative Justice Coalition, and Black Voters Matter. Will you join us?
RSVP now to get the facts, understand what’s at stake, and plug into the fight >>
Pamela, the Civil Rights Movement faced near-impossible hurdles – and still won transformative change because people organized, protested, and refused to back down. That blueprint still exists. And we’re putting it into action right now.
On this call, we’ll:
Because if the courts won’t defend our rights, and politicians won’t step up, it’s on all of us to fight back and ensure power remains with We The People.
This moment is a wake-up call – but it’s also a chance to come together, get organized, and take action. Will you join us?
Thanks for all you do,
The team at Common Cause
