CANNOT & WILL NOT

This fight is bigger than one district.

A message from U.S. Representative Jim Clyburn” title=

Team, it’s Rep. Jim Clyburn. Everything has changed in our fight for the House majority.

Donald Trump’s handpicked Supreme Court gutted the 1965 Voting Rights Act – opening the door for Republicans to bring back racial gerrymandering and undo decades of progress.

This issue is personal for me. I had the honor of fighting for the passage of the Voting Rights Act alongside many, including my dear friend, the late Congressman John Lewis. It was a moment of tremendous hope and inspiration for our country.

But now, our democracy is under attack from Donald Trump’s endless quest to maintain total power – we must fight to protect every American’s right to vote, no matter their race, gender, or religion.

To borrow a phrase from my longtime friend and colleague, John Lewis, we must engage in some "good trouble" and do everything in our power to stop Republican voter suppression efforts and take back the House. Will you chip in to the DCCC before midnight to help fund our fight to flip the House blue?

This fight is bigger than one district. It’s about whether our democracy belongs to the people, or to politicians who change the rules when they don’t like the results.

We cannot, and will not, let Republicans erase our hard-fought progress.

Please: I’m personally asking you to make a contribution to help us elect House Democrats who will fight to protect every American’s right to vote. >>
