Pamela,
Next week, we have a critical chance to force Congress to vote on ending U.S. military assistance for Israel's war on Lebanon. A War Powers Resolution is being introduced, and we need massive public pressure to make sure it passes.
Take Action: Demand Congress end military assistance for war!
The Constitution gives Congress—not the President—the power to authorize war. The War Powers Act requires Congressional approval for military action. Yet presidents have repeatedly bypassed this, sending weapons and funding to foreign conflicts without a vote. This Resolution forces Congress to exercise its constitutional duty and cut off U.S. support for illegal wars.
Israeli leaders are openly using the same genocidal tactics in Lebanon that we've witnessed in Gaza: occupying territory, leveling villages, bombing hospitals, and forcibly displacing over 1 million Lebanese civilians—then refusing to let them return home. Our country is coordinating with and arming these forces, violating both international and domestic law.
Instead of spending billions to send death abroad, we should invest in America and Americans.
In solidarity,
Mike Phelan
