Pamela: The U.S. and Iranian governments agreed to a reprieve from the violence — pausing Trump’s brutal, unjustified, unauthorized, unnecessary war that spanned more than a dozen countries and killed thousands.
Long before the first strikes on February 28, Win Without War was laying the groundwork to push back on war with Iran. It meant that when violence erupted, we could quickly jump into action: briefings, ads, mobilizations, media appearances, events, round-the-clock advocacy.
Anything less would have meant smaller, less effective campaigns, fewer media appearances, and minimal engagement with Congress and key decision-makers in DC. We didn't hold back and wait to see if the money would come. We went all in, because that's what the moment demanded.
Amidst a 2-week ceasefire agreement, Trump and DC war hawks will try to paint their illegal war as a success, even as it’s clear that diplomacy is what saves lives. But Pamela, we won’t let people forget that war is a choice — and this war is a disastrous, costly, horrific choice with massive human impacts and global consequences.
Critical work remains undone to keep pushing lawmakers to reflect the will of the overwhelming anti-war majority of Americans and save lives by preventing Trump from descending further down the path toward endless war. That looks like passing war powers resolutions, rejecting ANY funding for bombs and bloodshed, and blocking arms sales that fuel this violence. Unfortunately, we have serious financial ground to make up if we want to keep campaigning at the pace necessary to meet this urgent moment.

Win Without War has made a deliberate choice that is vital to our success: We rely on grassroots donors to power our work. That means we don’t take money with strings attached, and we don’t allow corporations, foreign governments, or weapons contractors to quietly shape our agenda.
That independence isn’t symbolic — it’s strategic. Because we’re supported by thousands of people like you, we can go where the fights are toughest. We can run confrontational campaigns about the horrific human costs of U.S. bombs in Iran, challenge Pete Hegseth and other dangerous members of Trump’s cabinet, and go toe-to-toe with the war lobby.
Trump has the warmongers, the Iran hawks, and the weapons lobby at his back. But our approach means we have the people.
Here's a snapshot of what your support has made possible so far:
- 400,000+ grassroots actions urging lawmakers to stop and defund the war.
- A letter to Congress from 251 organizations opposing funding to continue this war.[1]
- Appearances on CNN[2], SiriusXM, at No Kings[3], and more.
- Iran In Focus: Stop Trump's War, a mass grassroots call that featured Senators Kaine and Van Hollen, along with voices of women in the Iranian diaspora.[4]
- Dozens of briefings with movement partners and members of Congress to share analysis and shape the anti-war strategy.
- A memorial on Capitol Hill for Iranian children and thousands of others killed in the war.[5]
But our decision also has tradeoffs, and we’re facing that now as Trump’s illegal war reaches a critical inflection point. It means that when funds run low after weeks on end of tireless advocacy, there’s no single funder we can call up to replenish our coffers.
Pamela, if groups like ours slow down, then we risk a return to the violence or a repeat of this failed playbook. It’ll allow the war hawks’ propaganda machine to overshadow the devastating impacts of war, and the White House to take our lack of resistance as implicit permission.
Together, let’s keep building power so that we can end this disastrous war for good before more lives are lost and crises across the globe deepen.
Thank you for working for peace,
