Petition to the U.S. House: We urge you to impeach Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
|
At the height of U.S. airstrikes across Iran, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said, "We will keep pushing, keep advancing, no quarter, no mercy for our enemies."
Hegseth's declaration of no quarter and no mercy clearly violates international law and amounts to war crimes, according to legal experts. Last year, reports show that Hegseth gave a "kill everybody" order during an airstrike on a boat in the Caribbean. There was a second strike on the boat that killed defenseless survivors.
Hegseth is dangerous and proudly unwilling to follow the laws of war. Democrats introduced articles of impeachment recently, and Congress must act to remove him.

The articles of impeachment list additional war crimes, including Hegseth's role in the U.S. bombing of an Iranian girls school at the beginning of the war.
"Pete Hegseth broke his oath to the Constitution, put U.S. troops at grave risk through the unauthorized disclosure of classified information, engaged in abuse of office and conduct beneath the dignity of his office, and carried out unlawful military actions despite his obligation to refuse — including strikes on civilians and a girls' school in Minab, Iran," said Rep. Yassamin Ansari, who filed the impeachment measure.
Hegseth has helped Trump throw the world into chaos with illegal wars, horrific threats, and unconscionable airstrikes. He must be removed.
