It's a terrifying descent into forever war, Pamela: Defense Secretary Hegseth defended the violent removal of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro by saying Maduro "f'd around and he found out." Trump warned Colombia's president "to watch his ass." Stephen Miller is on CNN claiming Greenland should be part of the United States. And according to Secretary of State Rubio, Cuba's leaders are "in a lot of trouble."
The president has pushed us to the precipice of multiple disastrous and unnecessary U.S.-led military interventions. What happens next is critical.
We HAVE to stop Trump before it's too late — that's why Win Without War is at the forefront of an effort to prevent further violence. Our small team is:
- Strategizing with partners — former diplomats, think-tanks, advocacy groups, and our allies in Congress — to prevent further violence
- Mobilizing people across the country to pressure lawmakers to exercise their constitutional powers to stop Trump from "running" Venezuela and beyond
- Sending decision-makers round-the-clock reminders that Trump's criminal violence is deeply unpopular and that NO one wants a new war, anywhere.

Trump's lies and criminal warmongering are a dangerous attempt to distract us from his failed policies and flailing approval ratings. Strikes targeting Venezuela were never going to address the overdose crisis at home; Venezuela does not even produce or traffic fentanyl to the United States.[1]
If Trump actually cared about people struggling with addiction, he wouldn't have slashed the drug treatment and prevention programs that help them.
This is likewise no win for democracy. We're already hearing troubling reports of continued violence and repression in Venezuela.
While Maduro was a deeply corrupt and repressive leader, what Trump has laid out is a version of classic colonization. Venezuela's future should belong to its people, NOT Trump or U.S. oil companies.
We're witnessing a brazen, illegal ploy for power and profit that lines the pockets of his billionaire oil baron friends, and attempts to divert the headlines away from skyrocketing costs at home and a prolonged Epstein files cover-up.
But here's Trump's conundrum, Pamela: An overwhelming majority of Americans — including from his base — reject a new endless war. Strikes in Venezuela are no different and are already unpopular.[2]
That means we have power, and we intend to use it. It's up to organizations like ours to seize this opening and ensure the voices of our pro-peace majority continue to drown out the war hawks and weapons contractors in Washington. But we can't do it alone:
Since Saturday, Trump officials have made it clear they have no serious plan for what comes next.
Luckily, we do. Join us.
Thank you for working for peace,
The Win Without War team
P.S. Later today, Win Without War, MoveOn, Working Families Party, Indivisible, and Public Citizen are hosting an emergency organizing call to share details on how we can stop more endless war, with remarks from Sen. Tim Kaine alongside Reps. Ilhan Omar and Greg Casar. RSVP now and join our "Healthcare Not Warfare" Mass Call at 8:00PM EST / 5:00PM PST.
