Pamela,
Less than two weeks ago, the Supreme Court ruled in Louisiana v. Callais. The decision effectively gutted Section 2, a core protection of the Voting Rights Act that ensured Black and brown Americans could elect representatives of their choice. Now, multiple state legislatures across the South are going into special sessions to redraw maps that could ultimately eliminate up to 191 Democratic state legislative seats and 10 Democratic U.S. House seats, held largely by Black elected officials. Make no mistake: This is a political attack on Black political power and we're fighting back. Join us for an exclusive, emergency briefing where we'll break down what this ruling means, what's at stake across the South, and where we go from here.
