Pamela, a recent New York Times analysis confirms it: Trump is politicizing disaster relief, delaying federal aid longer than any president in recent history, and denying aid to the states he lost.
Blue states wait an average of 63 days for federal disaster approval, while red states wait about 40 -- compared to previous administrations’ approval time of three weeks or less.
Trump has approved just 23% of disaster aid requests from Democratic-led states, compared to 89% for Republican-led states.
We’re fighting back, exposing the political games the Trump administration is playing with people’s lives, and holding this administration accountable for its reckless antics. Will you chip in $5, $10, or $20 today to fuel this fight?

While Trump dangles relief money, states and towns have been fronting the cost of recovery. FEMA already owes communities nearly $10 billion for recovery costs, much of which they’ve paid out of pocket.
This is the reality of the Trump agenda: Even in the face of disaster, you’re on your own.
And it could get worse: Trump’s FEMA Review Council released recommendations this week that would further weaken the agency -- the last line of defense when disasters strike.
As disasters become more frequent and severe, communities need a federal government that shows up, not one that scores political points while towns go underwater.
Together, we can put the truth in front of Americans and push back against Trump and his partisan favoritism that leaves communities vulnerable to extreme weather events and left to fend for themselves.
Thanks for showing up in this fight,
Climate Power
