Dear Pamela,
I am reaching out because thousands of eligible Florida voters may be blocked from voting in 2027, and Common Cause wants to make sure this doesn’t happen to you.
Starting in January 2027, the Florida version of the SAVE Act (HB991) will require ALL voters in Florida to have documentary "evidence of citizenship" on file in order to vote, even if they have been voting for decades. But thousands of Floridians don’t have the required documents.
Common Cause is currently evaluating the potential impacts of this law so that we can assist voters and fight back to defend the right to vote. This short questionnaire will provide critical information to help us determine if you are likely to be affected >>
It is not yet fully clear how this new law will work, but we know which groups of voters are more likely to be blocked from voting:
If any of these groups applies to you, please fill out this short questionnaire so that we can support you and gain a better understanding of how many Common Cause members are at risk of being blocked from voting in 2027.
If you prefer not to fill out a survey, we still want to hear from you! Please feel free to reply to this email and let us know if you think you might be impacted by HB991.
Thank you in advance for your time and support!
In common cause,
Amy Keith, Executive Director
and the team at Common Cause Florida
