I won't mince words: The fabric of our democracy is hanging on by a thread.
Days after the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act, Republicans rushed to enact the same racist tactics that defined the Jim Crow era.
1. Louisiana CANCELED their congressional primary election — after over 40,000 ballots were already cast — in a craven bid to eliminate Black representation.
2. Tennessee Republicans passed a new map to ELIMINATE the ONLY Democratic-held seat in the state by diluting the voting power of Black people.
3. Alabama is expected to redraw their maps and STEAL more seats from my colleagues as soon as this month.
Let me make this perfectly clear: The Republican Party is dead-set on erasing the progress of the Civil Rights Movement in order to steal control of the House.
We can't let them get away with it.

In this unprecedented moment in our history, I'm looking to the titans of progress who organized and fought to win the Voting Rights Act.
Over 61 years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. spoke to a community of activists and dreamers in Selma, Alabama after the unforgettable events of Bloody Sunday.
"A man dies when he refuses to stand up for that which is right. A man dies when he refuses to stand up for justice…"
Today, I'm asking you to stand with me.
Stand up for what's right.
Stand up for justice.
Stand up and fight for the dream of a better tomorrow.
