The scars left by U.S.-made bombs are unconscionable, Pamela, yet the bombs continue to fall — and according to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, today will be the most intense day of strikes yet:[1]
A death toll that includes seven U.S. servicemembers is rising across the Middle East amidst Trump's illegal war of choice on Iran. More than 168 dead in a likely U.S. strike on an elementary school. Israeli strikes on oil depots have blackened the air and produced toxic black rain in Tehran, a city of 9 million.
It could all get worse yet, particularly if Congress funds Trump's reported supplemental funding request that includes at least $50 BILLION for more bombs and weapons.
The only ones who benefit from an effort like this are the weaponmakers and hawks who have failed to learn the simple truth that you can't build safety with bombs and bullets.
We say: Not another dime. Trump's supplemental is a non-starter. Let's make sure every lawmaker on Capitol Hill gets that message now.

As violence spirals out of control across the region, the costs are mounting. Estimates show that U.S. taxpayers are footing a $1 BILLION bill every single day — $41 million each hour — for Trump's deadly, deeply unpopular war of choice.[2]
Let's not forget: The Pentagon budget already now totals more than $1 trillion, after the extra $150 billion they received in last year's reconciliation bill. Trump has no endpoint in sight, saying just last night, "we're going to go further," and there's no other way to spin it: Capitulating to Trump's supplemental funding request is simply a vote for endless war.
These are OUR taxpayer dollars, Pamela. The billions already spent, in addition to the $50 billion Trump seeks, would be enough to cover the costs to restore food assistance for four million Americans, establish universal pre-K nationwide, and pay for 100,000 units of housing. Trump, Hegseth, and Rubio would use our resources to sow chaos, fear, and bloodshed.
We can stop this. Last week's war powers resolution votes came down to eight votes across both chambers in Congress, with multiple Republicans breaking ranks with Trump to reject his illegal war of choice. That's a close enough margin that we can overcome, but it'll demand an all-out effort.
Constituents like you need to remind your elected officials: A vote to fund war is a vote for war.
Thank you for working for peace,
