A Supreme Court case that “could disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of voters”

We're fighting back for the freedom to vote

"Trump just voted by a method he calls 'mail-in cheating'"—The Washington Post

Pamela, this level of hypocrisy from our leaders should be stunning. But it's exactly what we expect from Donald Trump.

News broke on Monday that Trump voted by mail in a special election. That's his right! And that's the same method that about 1 in 3 voters picked in 2024. After all, mail voting is secure, it's reliable, and it makes our elections more accessible to people who otherwise may not be able to cast a ballot.

But Trump is also leading a Republican crusade to ban mail voting (he doesn't have the power to do that). And he's spreading disinformation to say that his own voting method supposedly harms democracy. He votes by mail, but he doesn't think you should be able to.

Not to mention, on that very same day on Monday, Trump Regime lawyers went in front of the Supreme Court to try to sharply restrict mail voting — in a case that Mother Jones says "could disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of voters."

During oral arguments, right-wing justices echoed the rhetoric of election deniers who baselessly attack mail voting. We have to be ready for a radical ruling, and your support right now could help more voters have accurate information about how to cast their ballots — which would be even more critical with last-minute changes from the Supreme Court. Can you rush a donation before Tuesday's end-of-quarter deadline as we map out our budget for the rest of this election year?

In the case before the Supreme Court, the Trump Regime and the Republican National Committee want to stop states from counting mail ballots that are postmarked by Election Day if they arrive within a grace period.

Over a dozen states and the District of Columbia could have their mail voting rules upended by an anti-voter ruling.

And if people don't know about the new deadline — implemented just months before the midterms — or face postal delays, their ballots could go uncounted.

This case raises the stakes for our voter education and empowerment efforts. At Fair Fight, we work around the clock to give voters the latest information about election rules so they can cast their ballots with confidence. And we fight to elect Democracy Champions who protect, not restrict, the freedom to vote.

But the amount we're able to raise by Tuesday — the first quarterly deadline of this election year — will help determine how much we can invest in combating voter suppression in the midterms and beyond. Please chip in any amount that makes sense for you right now. And let's keep fighting side by side for voting rights.

In solidarity,

The Fair Fight Team
