Pamela - the current war in Iran is both illegal and immoral. It makes us less safe, in America and around the world. And now, the White House is eyeing another $200 billion to keep bombs flying.
In the first few weeks of this conflict, hospitals and schools have been attacked, thousands are dead, among them children and 13 U.S. servicemembers, and now, bombs have fallen across more than a dozen countries.
The White House can't articulate a credible reason why they launched a war. But while they cut $1 trillion from healthcare last year, they seem eager to send more pallets of money to defense contractors.
We need to make it crystal clear: A vote to fund the war is a vote to continue the war.
Reach out to your representatives today to demand they reject any funding for Trump's war machine.
The Trump administration isn't willing to spend money on critical social services, like improving our healthcare system, education, and other programs that help people thrive. Instead, they're willing to spend billions of dollars to fund a deadly, deeply unpopular war.
Trump campaigned on the promise of us never getting us involved in "endless" wars. And now, he's reneged on that promise (and many more), and for what reason? He doesn't even know.
And our politicians are falling for his schtick. The only ones who stand to profit from this conflict are the weaponmakers, who are already on Capitol Hill lobbying in favor of this pointless war.
Voting to fund this war is a vote in support of this war. We must demand our representatives to vote against increasing the budget for this endless war.
In solidarity,
Mike Phelan
