Tell Congress: Pass a war powers resolution to end Trump’s war on Iran

Congress can end Trump's illegal war by passing a war powers resolution.

Win Without War

Pamela, a horrific death toll across the Middle East is quickly rising as a result of yesterday's illegal U.S.-Israeli attacks on Iran: Among those killed are nearly 150 people at a girls' elementary school in Iran, three U.S. servicemembers, and at least nine people in the Israeli city of Beit Shemesh.

Yesterday, Trump upended promising diplomatic negotiations with missiles and fighter jets. The violence quickly spread across the region, with reports of strikes in Israel, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain.

Today, the bombs continue to fall, and hundreds of millions of people across the Middle East are terrified and directly in harm's way. Congress cannot stay on the sidelines any longer.

We must do all we can to stop the violence immediately. The House and the Senate must pass war powers resolutions (WPR) to end this war before it spirals further. The stakes are perilous, but votes are already being planned for as soon as this week. As lawmakers decide how to respond, they need to hear the demands of their constituents — our overwhelming anti-war majority — to vote YES on the WPR.

Tell Congress: Pass a war powers resolution to end Trump's illegal war on Iran!

ACT NOW

On Saturday, people in Iran work up to unconscionable and unnecessary panic and fear. One parent told The New York Times, "My children are crying and scared, we are huddling in the bathroom, we don't know what to do. This is terrifying."

Many Iranians, U.S. servicemembers, and more will suffer and die if Trump's illegal war goes unchecked. No one should have to feel this way.

Pamela: You're part of a community of hundreds of thousands strong. We've faced moments where Trump has pushed us to war with Iran before. Like when he ordered the assassination of a senior Iranian military leader in 2020 and when he launched strikes against Iran just last June 2025. Within days of both, we mobilized hundreds of thousands of people to sign petitions, make calls, and take to the streets to demand Congress pull us back from the brink of war — and it worked.

You likely remember the protests against the Iraq War, or possibly marched in them yourself, outraged that a powerful nation would ignore international law, abandon diplomacy, and choose to use overwhelming military force with devastating consequences.

In the past decades, our numbers have only grown. Right now, just 1 in 4 Americans approve of Trump's strikes against Iran.[1] We refuse to let our voices be ignored.

We have power, so let's use it. Add your name to send every member of Congress an urgent message, now.

Trump's airstrikes have already killed students and teachers, parents and children in Iran. As we know from Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and elsewhere, regime change wars are a recipe for chaos and humanitarian disaster, even if there is a plan the day after the war — and Trump appears to have no plan at all.

More people across the region, including those who have already been struggling and protesting to assert their rights and freedoms under brutal governments, will die if this war is not brought to an end.

But together, we will reject a status quo that feeds, grows off, and promises more violence abroad and deprivation at home — and use our commitment to one another as the foundation to build the more peaceful world we want and deserve.

Thank you for working for peace,
The Win Without War team

P.S. Save the Date! TOMORROW, Monday at 7PM ET, we'll join with MoveOn and 50501 to host a grassroots call to discuss the latest state of play and how we can all build more power and momentum to stop this war.
