Save the Children is calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities to prevent a humanitarian crisis and for crossings into Gaza to fully reopen so lifesaving assistance can reach children and their families. Right now, in Lebanon, we're distributing baby hygiene kits, mattresses, blankets and other essential items to families impacted by recent strikes. We’re also preparing to deliver water and sanitation support, set up safe shelters and provide child protection and education. In Gaza, we’re continuing to provide shelter, food and medical care for families affected by conflict. Across the region, children will need food, shelter, healthcare, protection and education in the days ahead. Many schools across the wider region have closed due to the conflict and are being used as shelters for displaced families. Children are being kept inside and not allowed out to play. Families are struggling to access healthcare services, children are struggling to sleep and the prices of certain foods have skyrocketed in some areas. Families are doing everything they can to protect their children — fleeing home to seek safety in schools and other buildings, and moving in with relatives and friends who have basements and more secure areas. This violence must end. Until it does, children need your support. Donate today to our Children’s Emergency Fund to support children caught in crisis in the Middle East and around the world. Thank you, Save the Children |
