BREAKING: Missouri Supreme Court approves extreme gerrymandered map.
Here's where the fight goes next:
Missouri got gerrymandered, Pamela.
Then Missourians fought back.
Last fall, at the urging of the White House, the Missouri legislature convened to redraw its congressional map for partisan gain. They rammed through this manipulated map — but now voters are challenging this extreme gerrymander. They took their case to the state Supreme Court.
And even though the court ruled against the voters in this case, this fight is far from over. Other cases challenging the map are working their way through the courts. And, more than 300,000 people have signed a petition seeking to force a statewide vote in November on the new map. Across Missouri, people are protesting the new, unfair map at public rallies. Missourians are mobilizing — and we can get their backs!

It's clear that Missouri's gerrymandered map is part of a widespread campaign to create an artificial partisan advantage in the midterms. According to the Missouri Independent, "The intended result from the new map is to flip the 5th District, based in Kansas City."
As one voter told the Missourian: "Taking away my vote and taking away the vote of the citizens of Kansas City… that's not right."
Together, we can help voters — in Missouri and nationwide — fight and win critical battles for fair representation. But we must have the resources to match the relentless attacks on our democracy wherever they take place.
